MXR has joined forces with Eric Gales for the Raw Dawg Overdrive—a revamped take on a classic overdrive for the blues virtuoso.
Housed in an MXR mini chassis, the Raw Dawg Overdrive gives you an abundance of sonic flavor in a pedalboard-friendly footprint.
“Eric Gales serves up some of the tastiest licks in the business, and he needs to have just the right seasoning on hand when it’s time to turn up the heat. The MXR Raw Dawg Overdrive is designed to do just that,” MXR wrote.
Featuring a custom circuit, the Raw Dawg is spec’d from a classic OD popular for its grit and crunch. MXR “balanced out the midrange and bumped up the gain” to achieve a sweeter and more natural-sounding tone even when cranked.
In terms of control, the Raw Dawg sports an intuitive three-knob layout of Tone, Drive, and Output dials, which allows you to craft your perfect sound. The pedal runs on a Dunlop ECB003 9V adapter, or Iso-Brick, Mini Iso-Brick, and DC Brick power supplies (sold separately).
