KHDK Electronics has partnered with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian for a limited-edition signature effects stompbox—the Scott Ian JSL.
Drawing inspiration from the long sold-out Sgt D, the Scott Ian JSL amp-and-boost pedal comes with refined circuitry designed to recreate the sounds from the guitarist’s early Anthrax and Stormtroopers of Death days.
Channel-specific controls dictate the JSL’s boost and amp sections, looking to deliver “more clarity and metal” through an all-new circuitry and a revolutionary right-hand switch.
Treble, Mid, Bass, Gain, and Volume dials control the amp section, while Bass, Treble, and Boost are in charge of the boost side of things. Each channel also boasts an independent footswitch, so you can use them separately or in tandem.
Per KHDK, the boost section acts as a pre-distortion EQ control and is modeled after Ian’s trusty booster during his early Anthrax and S.O.D. days.
“Little known fact: back in 1984, while creating Anthrax, I was recruited for an elite intergalactic combat force. My superpower was looking insanely good in floral bermudas, as has been immortalized in the leaked render from one of my most epic battles. To honor this stage of my life, I’ve decided to share my trusted weapon with a few of you chosen,” Scott detailed.
As with Sgt D, only 333 Scott Ian JSLs will be available for sale. Each unit ships with a letter of authenticity inked by Scott Ian and a price tag of $249.
