Fractal Audio has unleashed its most sophisticated amp modeler and multi-effects unit yet, the FM9.
In this do-it-all floor unit, you get four DSP cores, multiple foot-switching capabilities, 100+ stompbox and studio effects, thousands of amp models and cab sims, and a whole lot more.
“The new FM9 brings many of our most exciting features to a new, larger floor unit,” Fractal Audio wrote. “The unit is remarkably easy to use, with intuitive and comfortable controls, plus the same large, full-color main display as the Axe-Fx III and FM3.”
Thanks to its proprietary Cygnus amp modeling technology, the FM9 offers better amp model responses across all input levels, yielding better touch sensitivity and more accurate voicing.
Each of the nine onboard footswitches comes with a dedicated mini LCD and vari-color LED ring. They offer customizable tap-and-hold functions for instantaneous control over numerous aspects of your rig.
Additionally, FM9 has tons of inputs and outputs, including a headphone jack, a 1/4” instrument input, dual independent stereo pairs of balanced 1/4” jacks, and a primary stereo output equipped with XLR and 1/4” outs.
Ultimately, FM9 incorporates Fractal’s FM9-EDIT software editor free. You can also use it with the Fractal-Bot app for firmware updates, backups and restoration, as well as preset sharing.
The Fractal Audio FM9 Amp Modeler/FX Processor retails for $1,599.
