Catalinbread has unveiled the latest installment of its Gallery Series—the limited-edition Sabbra Cadabra overdrive dressed in exquisite artwork by Matt Stikker.
The Sabbra Cadabra Gallery Series seeks to bring the iconic searing tones of Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi back to life. This sound results from plugging an always-on treble booster into cranked Laney amps.
“Tony Iommi arguably had the most influential tone in the history of electric guitar. Really, when you think Black Sabbath you immediately think ‘electric guitar,’” the brand detailed. “Catalinbread designed the Sabbra Cadabra to give players that sonic experience, re-contextualized for today’s approach where players tend to use amps solely within their clean range at more mortal volume levels.”
The stompbox is controllable using control knobs for Range, Gain, Presence, and Vol. 4. Per Catalinbread, the Range dial sculpts the whole tone of the Sabbra Cadabra.
The limited-edition Sabbra Cadabra Gallery Series retails for $189.99. Each order comes with a 4X5 holographic Sabbra Cadabra sticker and a 16X20 Sabbra Cadabra poster. 10% of its proceeds for the rest of 2020 will go towards the Oregon Food Bank.
