Catalinbread has debuted a unique fuzz/distortion effects unit that aids the Red Cross, the Blood Donor stompbox.
The Blood Donor is a “revamped and fine-tuned” variant of Catalinbread’s iconic Katzenkonig pedal. It comes with several updates that unleash the potential of the circuit.
Spec-wise, the Blood Donor consists of a meticulously picked transistor set that drives the boundaries of gain and saturation to their electrical limits.
True to its name, Catalinbread vows to gift 100% of its Blood Donor profits to the Red Cross.
“Here at Catalinbread, we’ve been hard at work coming up with any way we can to help our country’s most vulnerable citizens. Our Blood Donor pedal does just that: we pledge to donate 100 percent of our Blood Donor profits to the Red Cross, along with a little gentle encouragement to give your own blood to the cause,” the company wrote.
In keeping with Catalinbread’s goal, the Blood Donor carries four control knobs that read PLEASE (filter level), GIVE (gain), YOUR (volume), and BLOOD (input signal level).
Other features include a reduced noise floor as well as a more comprehensive control utility for an increased range of input sensitivity.
The Blood Donor is already available for preorder for $179.99 and will begin shipping on April 6.
