Truetone founder Bob Weil has been making guitar effects pedals for two dozen years, but it wasn’t until 2015 that he came up with the name “Truetone.” Under the company’s original name, Visual Sound, Weil created one of the most essential innovations in stompbox history: a volume pedal with an LED scale so you always know the current volume level it’s on. Weil and Visual Sound have since become dual effects pedal pioneers with the release on the Jekyll & Hyde overdrive/distortion, and they’ve continued to innovate under the Truetone label.

Truetone Route 66
The Comp 66’s silky smooth compression and the Route 808’s wide-range overdrive made them two of Visual Sound’s most popular releases. Following the company’s rebrand into Truetone, they’ve taken another look at these two classic stompboxes and given them the modernized reboot they deserve in the form of the Route 66. Aide from combining the functions of the Comp 66 and the Route 808, the Route 66 dual pedal features true bypass switching, independent compression and overdrive inputs and outputs, and clean mix knobs for maximum blending control.

Truetone V3 Jekyll & Hyde
The Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde overdrive is a true classic, having been the first real dual effect stompbox ever released. With Visual Sound’s rebranding into Truetone, they’re releasing an updated version of their popular pedal. V3 of the Jekyll & Hyde drive stomp is a complete redesign that modernizes the original. It features the same warm Jekyll & Hyde tone but with modern conveniences like optional true bypass or Pure Tone buffered bypass, MIDI compatibility, and custom Forever Footswitches.

Truetone V3H2O
Truetone’s H2O V3 still serves up the same warm, liquid chorus and echo tones of the original Visual Sound H2O, but in a completely redesigned enclosure that packs even more versatility and flexibility. The chorus section now has dedicated tone and chorus-vibrato pots plus a detune switch, while the echo section has been given the ability to go into controlled oscillation. Truetone V3XO
With two independent and stackable overdrive channels, each with its own dedicated control knobs, the XO dual overdrive pedal from Truetone / Visual Sound is the consummate tone tweaker’s dream drive stomp. The right channel serves up a mid heavy sound that can be further shaped using a three-way clipping switch, a three-way bass switch, and a Clean mix knob, while the left channel dishes out an amp-like sound with flat mids that can be tweaked via a dedicated bass dial.
