KHDK is the stompbox-making lovechild of Metallica’s Kirk Hammet and industry pro David Karon. Under the watchful eyes of tone wizard and head engineer Antonin Salva, KHDK has crafted pedals for artists such as Helmet’s Page Hamilton, Gojira’s Joe Duplantier, and of course Hammett himself. Among KHDK’s most popular products are the Dark Blood distortion pedal, the double gain control-driven No. 1, and the Ghoul Screamer overdrive as well as its insane little brother, the Ghoul Jr.

KHDK No.1
Powered by KHDK’s proprietary circuit, the No.1 pedal is built on the spirit of an overdriven tube amp. Turn this device on, and you will feel like you have connected to a mighty distortion channel on a tube amp. The No.1 consists of Treble, Bass, Volume, and Gain knobs, as well as a Hi/Lo toggle. The Gain adjusts the circuit’s unity gain, while Volume controls the pedal’s overall output volume. Similar to other KHDK pedals, the No.1 is quality tested and manufactured in Kentucky, USA.

KHDK No.2
The No.2 is KHDK’s Clean Boost pedal boasting dynamic responsiveness akin to a tube amplifier without compression. Equipped with four control knobs for Bass, Volume, Treble, and Gain plus a Hi/Lo gain mini toggle switch, the No.2 lets the natural and transparent EQ controls completely sculpt your sound. It delivers a warm, tube-esque boost and works as a precision tool for shaping your tone. When the No.2 is engaged, two little LEDs glow in bright purple.
