Neural DSP’s Quad Cortex Receives CorOS 1.1.0 Firmware Update Leave a comment

Neural DSP has given its Quad Cortex a firmware update with the CorOS 1.1.0, introducing several fixes to the platform, along with some new effects and general upgrades.

Downloadable from the Quad Cortex’s settings page, the firmware update includes a pair of new devices for use in patches: Shimmer and Digital Flanger. In addition, the pedal can now bypass and automatically engage expression stompboxes; therefore, they won’t affect your tone unless you move them.

Each reverb and delay module is optimized, enabling more instances to run in a given patch. Other upgrades include a 25 percent speedier boot time and better USB audio performance on both macOS and Windows.

Ultimately, some minor fixes have been implemented on the Tuner, which “now functions correctly when the FREQ parameter is set to any value other than 440 Hz,” and Cab Sim’s level display, which now reads “OFF” when at minimum, instead of “-12dB.”

“CorOS 1.1.0 is now available. Download it via Settings > Device Options > Device Updates on your Quad Cortex once connected to Wi-Fi. We recommend that you create a backupbefore updating your firmware,” Neural DSP instructs.
